Imran Tahir took his maiden T20 international five-wicket haul as South Africa beat New Zealand by 78 runs in the one-off encounter in Auckland.
The Proteas posted 185-6 from their 20 overs, Hashim Amla top-scoring with 62, before bowling New Zealand all out for 107 in the 15th over.
Chris Morris' two wickets in two balls started the Black Caps' struggles while Andile Phehlukwayo also chipped in with three wickets before Tahir rounded things off with two in an over.
Trent Boult (2-8) was the standout bowler for the home side, picking up the key wicket of Quinton de Kock (0) in a miserly four-over spell.However, a second wicket second of 87 between Amla and Faf du Plessis (36) provided South Africa with a more than useful platform and cameos from AB de Villiers (26 from 17 balls) and JP Duminy (29 from 16) helped the visitors to an extremely competitive total.
It was then left to the bowlers to complete the job and they began well, Morris (2-10) removing debutant Glenn Phillips (5) and Colin Munro (0) in the third over.
Williamson (13) fell to Phehlukwayo (3-19) and when Tahir dismissed Tom Bruce (33) and Luke Ronchi (0) in consecutive balls, New Zealand were 60-6.
The wickets continued to tumble but Tim Southee (20 from 6 balls) showed some brief resistance, hitting three sixes, before he was the final wicket to fall; bowled by Tahir.
