Meet the model: Lizzie and I met in Boston freshman year of college through my first job at Jack Wills. From the moment we met, I knew we would be friends, and I’m so thankful that we were able to maintain our friendship almost five years later. With two Masters degrees in education, and one hell of a work ethic, Lizzie is hands down one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met. Inside and out, she exudes kindness and love, which is what drew me to her, and of course, she’s a total weirdo and can make me laugh in just about any situation, I consider this nerd my sister.
Snatch the look: For this super easy summer look, I decided to put Lizzie in this gorgeous, rose, striped number, which is actually a one piece. I’m a lover of a good pair of ripped shorts, especially if you’re going for that classically vintage feel. Ok, time to chat about side-boob. I am a fan of this major trend but I don’t think it’s for everyone, and that is totally okay! If you feel uncomfortable with the cut of something, get some fashion tape and work it. You can always wear a cute lace bralette underneath if it works with the outfit, this shirt was quite thin so we went au natural but its better to be safe than sorry and have a slip up.

Jewelry: I decided to go dainty and simple rather than a huge statement piece. Lizzie’s delicate silver tie ring and the choker gave this simple look the edge it needed to take it from day party to night, and I loved the contrast of the black on the beachy, muted color palette I created.
Shoes: For shoes, I found these amazing black velvet, Jeffrey Campbell x Urban Outfitters chelsea boot heels that were $30 at Wasteland. If you’re not familiar with Wasteland, basically it’s one of the most well-known consignment/thrift shops in Los Angeles. Thrifts shops are my favorite place to find hidden treasure. My advice is to go early in the day as customers sell things to these shops 24/7 and there’s always something new on the shelves. Also, if there’s a more expensive area of town near you, go to consignment shops there, they will have a better selection of must-have brands and goodies for a fraction of the price.

At the end of our shoot, I of course had to get a selfie with my beautiful model. As always, I’m giving the camera my best blue steel, as she is giving our other camera a flash of her perfect smile, how gorgeous is this girl? It was so nice to be able to work with a close friend, especially someone who I adored as much as Lizzie. I hope you guys loved the first of many (I hope) girls fashion blog posts! Let me know in the comments below your thoughts, and make sure to like the post! Until next time, I love you for reading!!!!!!!!!!!
